NGC7083 – Chile

NGC7083 is down at -64 degrees DEC in Indus, about 108 million lyrs away. It is quite large with an estimated diameter about 1 1/2 times that of the Milky Way.

It lies in a “quiet” neighborhood with the nearest bright galaxy over a 1/2 degree away. As a result it shows relatively little evidence of interaction with another galaxy. The strong arms are billowing with plenty of star forming regions scattered along them.
