NGC945 – Chile

Here is NGC945 with its smaller companion NGC948. They lie about 150 million ly away in Cetus.

They are showing interaction. The smaller one has its lower arm drawn out dramatically like a fan. NGC945 itself is showing its opposite arm billowing out and there is a curious vertical “shadow” in the upper part of its body that points to the smaller galaxy.
