NGC7049 is a strange looking galaxy in Indus. It features an intensely prominent ring surrounding a very luminous, central region. The light falls off considerably past that, but note how far out the halo spreads. Possibly, this galaxy is exhibiting a post-merger appearance.
It is quite large with a diameter of 150,000 ly across, and lies about 100 million ly away.
