NGC7497 – Chile

The spiral galaxy NGC7497 lies at distance of 69 million ly away. However, the interesting part of the image is the nebulous wisps seen surrounding it. This is part of the large, integrated flux nebula MBM 54, which is only about 400-500 ly away. It lies above the plane of the Milky Way and it glows by the light of the entire Milky Way below it. IFNs are”low light” objects and present their own capture and processing problems.
