NGC1398 – Chile

This SB barred galaxy lies at a great distance from us – 135 million ly away in the constellation Fornax. It sports a double spiral structure – tightly around its bar, and then further out. It appears to be relatively isolated. You can see some reddish HII regions in the arms even at this distance.
