This is one of the lowest surface-brightness spirals known in the universe. At 10 million ly away it is believed to be part of the Sculptor Group of galaxies. Considered unusually small for a spiral it has a diameter of around 30,000 ly. No nearby companion disturbs it. Its arms are organized in broad, ill defined
arms, and it does not exhibit a central bulge.
This galaxy’s actions are probably dominated less by ts stars than by its dark matter.
