NGC6632 – Chile

Here is a very distant spiral. NGC6632 lies around 220 million lyrs away in Hercules.

Since it is large, around 191,000 lyrs in diameter. we can still record its overall shape pretty well.

Its arms look warped, and tilted some with evidence of HII tones in the lower, outer arm – possibly due to an interaction. Node the small “puff” of material about 11:000 off the galaxy. There is some conjecture that this may be a remnant tidal tail from such an interaction.
