This is a wide field shot of the massed stars in Sagittarius named M24.
This is the only star cloud listed in Messier’s catalogue. It lies about 10,000 lys away but has considerable depth to it with objects
ranging from 10,000 to 16,000 lys deep.
The tight open cluster in the central region is NGC6603. The dark arc to the upper left is Barnard 93. The faint purplish background color indicates the presence of emission nebulosity. So more new stars to come.
15″ reflector with ZWO ASI 6200 camera. F/4 LRGB (45x3min L, 15/3min RGB each, all 2×2 bin).
