GUM 14 is a nice object from Colin Gum’s catalogue of 84 emission nebulas in the southern sky.

The distance to the nebula itself is listed at about 1470 ly. A bright type “B1″ star dominates the foreground sky at a distance of 988 ly while a scattering of other colorful stars adds interest to the region.
