NGC3199 is a nebula illuminated by the energy outflow from a Wolf-Rayet star. It lies about 11,700 ly away in an area of Carina that is heavily strewn with stars.

Wolf-Rayet 18 lies in the cavity to the left, and its stellar winds have blown out a large, spherical shape in the gas and dust
surrounding it.
