A wide field nebula complex in Orion. It features long stripes of dark dust bisecting a giant emission nebula. Reflection nebulas are mixed in here and there, while a variety of stars produce a virtual panoply of colors. The massed stars on the upper right contrast nicely with the obscuring effect of the main body of the nebula on the left side of the picture.
