NGC4027 – Chile

At 83 million ly out we find this duo interacting with each other. Note the right arm of the larger one, NGC4027, has been drawn out much further than its companion arm on the other side. This traces to a very close interaction with the smaller galaxy on the left, NGC4027A, in the past.

Note that both galaxies are disturbed with the smaller one showing dim HII features. Bears a resemblance to the Magellanic Clouds.
