NGC1532 with Supernova – Chile

These pictures were taken on 11/14 and 11/15/2016. They capture the supernova ATLAS16dvr near the central region of this spiral galaxy’s disk. The supernova has been identified as a type 1c. It took 55 million years for the light from the explosion to reach earth.

Takahashi CCA-250 Astrograph with an ST11000 camera, Astrodon filters, and ASA gearless DDM-60 mount. F/7.5 unguided LRGB (360/6min L, 10/360min each 2×2 RGB.) B/W insert was a 1/6minute L exposure.
